2006, National Institute of Korean History (국사편찬위원회 (Guksapyeonchanwiwonhoe)), quoting Bak Yeon (박연(朴堧)), 《세종실록》(世宗實錄)[1], translation of 임금이 근정전에서 회례연을 베풀었는데, 처음으로 아악을 사용하다 (imgeumi geunjeongjeoneseo hoeryeyeoneul bepureonneunde, cheo'eumeuro aageul sayonghada), 1st month of 1433 AD (十五年一月一日), Veritable Records of King Sejong 《세종실록》(世宗實錄), archived from the original on 04 September 2019:"여러 대언들이 연(堧)에게 말하기를, 중국의 음(音)을 버리고 스스로 율관을 만드는 것이 옳겠는가고 하며, 모두 거짓말이라 여기니"yeoreo daeeon-deur-i yeonege malhagireul, junggug-ui eum-eul beorigo seuseuro yulgwan-eul mandeuneun geos-i olkenneun'gago hamyeo, modu geojinmarira yeogini""Several Daeeons said to Yeon, "Would it be proper to abandon China's sounds and create a yulgwan (律管) by yourself?" and everyone thought it was a lie."
